“The musical documentary “U2 3D,” which stitches together three performances by this Irish rock band during a recent tour of South America, is not merely a technical landmark — shot entirely in digital 3D — but also an aesthetic one… [it] deserves to be called a work of art.” - Matt Zoller Seitz, NY Times, January 23, 2008

“”U2 3D” is the next step toward engaging the “iGeneration” (as Bono and others have called it) by proving that what happens in the flesh can feel as potent in a virtual context.” - Ann Powers, LA Times, January 23, 2008

“U2 3D (* * * * out of four) in many ways delivers an experience that’s even better than the real thing.” - Edna Gundersen, USA TODAY, January 22, 2008

“”U2 3D,” a showcase of the Irish band in digital 3-D that is so technologically advanced and totally exhilarating in every way that it may just make all the other ‘08 concert films obsolete.” - William Arnold, Seattle Post Intelligencer, January 22, 2008

“…the film still resonates as a stunning cinematic experience, and the best rock show I’ve never attended.” - Eliot Van Buskirk, Wired, January 21, 2008

“I don’t use this term lightly, but I really felt like I was witnessing something “revolutionary” in filmmaking.” - Michelle Meyers, cNet News, January 20, 2008

I am so pumped right now! I have to write this while the experience is alive in me. I just got back from the cinema. The words fail me. I have never before had such a raw close-up perspective of U2. The 3D is the best I have ever seen. Nothing even comes close. And for the first time in my life, I can say I have some idea of what it is like for them to play in sold out stadiums to thousands of people. I have never really felt that before. This makes you feel like you are right on stage with them. It is very intimate. The concert is beautiful. There were many times when I was moved by it and my heart felt so full. It is very special. I cannot be more serious when I say you have to plan on seeing it at least once. Maybe even a second time. I know I will see it again. You know, in many ways this is just as good as seeing U2 in person if not better. It's been about two and a half years since I was at a concert. It was so good to be in their presence again. If not this weekend, sometime soon, YOU NEED TO GO!

No doubt I do need to go, being a U2 fan for 27 years, I do want to go. Ya' think maybe they could show it in Alberta? We've got IMAX theatres, indoor plumbing, and everything.......

More than a little disappointed at an apparent snub,

Holy Schniekies!!! Bono was in my personal space!
This was so unbeleivable - the only thing missing was a smelly armpit in my face! This movie MUST be seen at the theatres.
